What Kind of Leather Do You Use?

We only use drum-dyed specially tanned top-grain skirting leather (cowhide) from the best tanneries in the US. The leather is vegetable tanned (with tree bark) which allows us to "case" the leather and make a semi-rigid case. The side benefit is that "veg-tanned" leather is also environmentally friendly and does not use the chemicals, oils or metals that other methods use. The quality is fabulous and the grain consistent and rich.
