What are the Differences between Leather and Fabric?

Ask any motorcycle rider what the best garment material is and you get a quick answer - leather. It's not only the very best for abrasion resistance, its internal structure and flexibility helps it absorb shocks. Nikon, Canon, Leica and most of the binocular manufacturers in the last century always used leather. Nowadays camera manufacturers only offer a few cases, mainly because quality leather cases are expensive to produce and because nylon and other fabric bags are much less expensive and available from many sources.

The way we design and "case" the leather to give it structure, your camera and lens stays protected through some of the toughest of conditions.

Weather-proofing a leather case is just like weather-proofing a good pair of alpine climbing boots - use a spray-on dressing like ones made by Coleman or Kiwi to water-proof your case. When you do, the color stays the same, and rain or water beads up and rolls right off.
